I SERVE A GOD AND NOT A DOG
by
nicholas ayoola oladehin
Am amazed at the awesomeness of the love that he gladly showered upon us as men. His plans for us as always has been for good and not evil because he had prepared and orchestrated the routes to a fulfilled end for us: as long as we followed his instructions, laws and daily enriched ourselves with his word (which luckily for us is free).
When he prepared for this exciting and important mission, his plan was to create a likeness of himself (more like needing a brother, a sister, a friend: someone and a people he could share thoughts with; a people that looked like him). He moulded us from clay into an image of his likeness, he filled our beings with the breathe of life and he called us ‘’MAN’’. He was a great scientist who understood the principles of the attraction of unlike terms and he therefore moulded out ‘’WOMAN’’ from the very rib of ‘’MAN’’.
He made adequate provisions for food, water and was responsible for the creation of life in all forms. After creation, the whole world to him was like a village and he placed us in the city of EDEN as a King and a Queen.
He gave us dominion over every single thing that he had created (as nothing was too big for him to give away) except the forbidden fruit (which he forbade us to eat).
Even when we disobeyed and were cast out of our original home to fend for ourselves, he still was always there waiting earnestly for us to call on him in our times of need.
He has given us a second chance of a kingdom where we can live forever (which was his original plan for Eden) but then it has only been prepared for the worthy (those that seek him and do his will). He is a supreme being, not an animal on a lead (that is controlled by men at will), He speaks and doesn’t bark, He loves his words and not the bone, He is not just mans best friend (a dog as most people say), He indeed is GOD and not DOG.

My other Half
by
nicholas ayoola oladehin
To live as one, you and I,
under the heavens a vow we made,
on earth and in heaven our love was bond,
you and I as one to remain.
Betray not the love we share
Betrayal indeed is the saddest pain of love
the cure of which is hard to find.
Together as one to live...we vowed
for an unsolved riddle life would have been
without you here by my side.
Love is a riddle difficult to solve
Love is real; Love is sweet
The taste of honey to it I compare
The rainbow colours so brightly lit
Reminds me of the you I know
To God I'm grateful for making you
For me you were made... to care and to love
In my dreams I see you again and again
Love is amazing... so divine
It demands my soul, my life, my all
PS: I stumbled across this poem that I had written in 2001 from poetry.com where I had pasted it 10 years ago. Hope you like it?

Time up
by
nicholas ayoola oladehin
drenched of all strength,
weak and shivering,
am a prisoner caged in my own body,
enduring the pains from within,
threatening to eat my inner bits.
while pains un-endurable
reside in me
making my body a temporary home
wielding the iron rod at will
claiming supremacy over my being
forcing me to bow and kneel at will
a slave to my own self
it forces me to follow a routine
and wakes me up at odd hours
against my wish and will
it cripples me
and puts all activities to a halt
giving commands and taking charge.
this ULCER has overstayed its visit
am showing it the front door
am gathering inner strength
enough to send it back to hell

the PRODIGAL woman
by
nicholas ayoola oladehin

full of mischief
unpredictable
cunning and unstoppable
an exact copy of Eve
a replica of Delilah
born of a woman like all men
learning the trade of the barking clan
right from her youthful days
she melts into the night unseen
carrying her wares as she goes along
yearning for so much more
even though she lives in luxury.
she is a wife to a thousand men
a concubine to a thousand more.
she delights
in sharing the beds of her men
she loves with her body
and gives with her heart
and her soul is free for all to share.
she adorns herself with diamonds
and she swims in piles of gold
she changes her partners like tissue
selling her wares on sale
her once radiant frame
becomes a shadow of itself
gradually depreciating
revealing an image of wear and tear
she has travelled the world
deflowered by a thousand men
of a thousand tribes
now she retraces her steps
back to
Africa
Motherland
in search of her very first love.

Just the Two of Us
By
Nicholas Ayoola Oladehin
We started the day alone
waking up from different beds
We started the day alone
travelling out on different routes
We started the day alone
having lunch at different times
We started the day alone
searching through our worried minds
We started the day alone
making friends with the tall Big Ben
We started the day alone
watching as the hours go bye
We started the day alone
relying on our mobile phones
We started the day alone
yearning, longing and hoping
We started the day alone
but the night was full of smiles
We started the day alone
and we kissed as we said goodnight

Me and You
by
nicholas ayoola oladehin

If I be Adam and you be Eve
we would have been out of Eden
If I be Romeo and you be Juliet
we would have made Shakespeare proud
If I be a King and you a Queen
we would have a kingdom of our own
If I be Samson and you be Delilah
I would have been betrayed by you
If I be a Prince and you a Princess
we would have tied the knot
But now that am me
And you are you
Then lets make a story of our own

my wish
by
nicholas ayoola oladehin
i crave for my lovers touch
for it calms my heavy heart
i crave for my lovers smile
for it sets my mood alight
i crave for my lovers kiss
for it tunes my troubled mind
i crave for my lovers voice
for its music in disguise
i crave for my lovers eyes
for they assure me all is well
i crave for my lovers embrace
for indeed
it makes me feel at peace
