THE EVE ON MY OFFICE SHELF by nicholas ayoola oladehin
I just scanned the 360-degree radius of my office
And guess what?
I spot a red apple
Sitting on the shelf
Seductively staring at me
At this moment and time of the day
Just when my belly begins to rumble
Obviously without an owner
It’s free and mine to have if I so desire
But,
I’m reminded of the biblical Eve
Could this really be Eve?
Disguised as an apple
Tempting me
Yet while I fast?
Eve indeed can wait
I’ll have her when it’s long past six.
