DREAMLAND
by
Nicholas Ayoola Oladehin
Dreamland
Where the streets are lined with rubies
And everyone is a prince
Dreamland
Where there’s always a Romeo
For every lonely Juliet
Dreamland
Where the rivers flow with milk
And the streams are spiced with honey
Dreamland
Where the richest man is poor
And the poorest man rich
Dreamland
Where diamonds are like water
Free for all to take
Dreamland
Where a prisoner roams free
In his own tiny mind
Dreamland
Where my aged grandma
Still feels like a sweet sixteen
Dreamland
Where everyman is a friend
And all tribes are as one
Dreamland
Where we are all as kings
Men of equal rights
Dreamland
Where there is no law
No crime, no pain, no worries
Dreamland
A temporary home of make believe
For the lazy man
Who gladly retires to his own domain
Dreaming again and again
Dreamland
Where I travel to
When am weak, tired and worn out
Dreamland
Where I make peace with my body
After a long days job.......
